Sewing Workshop: The Jaela Top | Saturday June 27th

Join a hands-on sewing class focused on sewing the Jaela Top pattern. Whether you're looking to expand your summer wardrobe or practice sewing with knit fabrics, this class is for you.

When: Saturday, June 27th from 1:00-4:30 PM (3.5 hours)
Where: Mueller Neighborhood, Austin, TX

Class Size: Maximum 6 participants for personalized attention and a supportive learning environment

What You'll Learn

We'll dive into how sew the Jaela Top pattern. This top is made with a cotton jersey fabric so we'll specifically be covering how this fabric behaves when sewn and how to adjust your machine settings accordingly. You'll learn:

• How to make the Jaela top
  
• What machine settings to use for knit jersey fabric
• How to choose the right needle for knits (we'll practice sewing with a ballpoint and twin needle)
• How to troubleshoot common issues

What to Bring

• Sewing Machine: Please bring your own sewing machine if you have one. If you don't have a sewing machine, email hello@oliviasews.co to reserve one (free of charge) before purchasing your ticket. Studio machines are available in limited quantity on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Walking Foot: During this workshop we will be sewing with a walking presser foot attachment. You will need one that is specifically compatible with your machine. If you are unsure which presserfoot to buy, please get in touch with me at hello@oliviasews.co, and I will be happy to provide recommendations. 
• Extra Spool Pin: That is compatible with your sewing machine. We will need this when sewing with the twin needle. 

Important Notes

• All skill levels welcome (I do recommend having basic knowledge of how to thread your machine. I will show you how to do this at the beginning of the class, but it won't be a major focus.)
